If her slacker musician boyfriend isn't enough, Eila has to cope with her jailbird son coming to live with her, After being separated from him for several years, she decides to make
the best of the situation. Even if it means to disregarding her colleagues as they strike against a government corporation that render their cleaning services useless, Excluded by her
former work-mates, brutalised by her ungrateful SOil and
without any comforting help from her boyfriend, Eila still carries on and finds the courage to fight back, With a little help from a lawyer, she brings action against the State for illegal discharges,
Based on a true story, Eila is a heart-warming saga of integrity and the courage to stand up for onk's beliefs, Jarmo Lampela's approach, virtually documentary, intensifies the realism of class struggle and people's petty judgements on others, The critique of a society in which a bog corporation fires its trustworthy staff around Chrisfmas is somewhat worn-out, but works as Eila's domestic situation provides the main focus, The film shows in a very enlightening way the biased values of occupational status transmitted even to the household and family members.
