Norman Bates, Leatherface and Hannibal Lecter are unforgettable screen psychos who all have one thing in common: Edward Gein. They have all been modelled on what once happened in the small town of Plainfield, Wisconsin. This is the true story of Eddie, an American village idiot. On the surface he is the harmless handyman of the county, but in his mind he is incurably sick and lost in his own perception of the world. He grew up as a mama's boy but is left all alone When his mother, Augusta, tragically passes away. She carries on as a demon in the mind of her son, who often visits her grave. It is not long until his interest in reincarnation, cannibalism and handy-work in conjunction with his longing for his mother take on new forms. Graves are robbed and their contents made into insane decorations and household tools by Ed. In front of an unassuming population, Ed continues unbothered with his ''hobbies'' that become increasingly twisted and dangerous.
