In the city of Taipei, business centre of Taiwan, a female crime investigator links together several bizarre deaths of topdogs within both the business world and the criminal underworld. Streets mart cop Huo-To (Tony Leung Ka-Fai of Jean-Jacques Annaud's L'Amant) soon realises that the Taiwanese police department is in some way involved with the country's first serial killer. An American expert from the FBI (David Morse), who's been working as a serial killer profiler during his whole career but never actually been out in the field, is flown over-seas to help out with the investigation. Together, the odd duo has to put together leads traced both from a mad sect and from supernatural forces. East meets West with no humour in this clash of cultures - a workaholic sleeping at the office with comb and toothbrush in his pocket versus 6'6 feet of law and order with clean starched shirt and a dressing case of famous brand. Double Vision is a nightmare suspense thriller in which Asian kick-ass action and mysticism meet Western cinematography similar to TV-series such as C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation - a fine combination indeed.
