The summer of 1958, The whole nation walks around giddyheaded awaiting the coming World Cup Final against Brazil. That is everyone but the undertaker Yngve Johansson, single and intolerably righteous. This fact being only one of all the peculiarities of Yngve's that the two children, Annika and Marten who visit for the summer, come across in this equally peculiar summer. In his latest film Malmros goes back to Molkom in Värmland and to his childhood. His amiable story is on the brim of nostalgia but is weighted by the saltiness of Kjell Bergqvist's purely sadistic but hearty summer daddy and huckster in the undertaking business. The film was well received by the critics and has filled the Swedish cinemas.
