Come Early Morning

Yet another morning, Lucy wakes up in a strange bed next to a strange man shedoesn’t even want to look at. Unable to commit and unable to recognize the burdens she is carrying with her, Lucy keeps repeating the same pattern of nightly bar binges and fleeing from motel rooms in the early morning. But when new town arrival Cal comes along she is slowly forced to let her guard down. Gradually Lucy starts dealing with the strained ties to her divorced parents, particularly her estranged father.Set in Arkansas, Come Early Morning is the story of a 30-something small town gal who rather unwillingly starts confronting her own erratic behaviour and how it relates to her familial past. As much as this is a story about love and its potential to change a person, it’s not your average love-conquers-all-plot. Actress Joey Lauren Adams makes her writing and directing debut with this low-key, yet intense and direct drama about life transitions and finding a way out of emotional disconnection. ELINA WESSMAN
