Chloë, the latest film from the eminent and daring Japanese production company J-Works, is the beautiful saga of Kuroe and Kotaro. Deeply in love, their idyll falls apart when an exray reveals water lilys inside of Kotaros chest.
Director Gô Rijû has based this film on the classic novel From the Daze (L'Écume des Jours) by French surrealist Boris Vian. He has been fascinated by the novel for a long time and says having been ''attracted by the abundant flow of images and vehement emotion'' of the work.
Chloë was nominated for a Golden Bear at this year's Berlin Film Festival.
