Britney Baby, One More Time is based on a true story. A documentary within a movie, filmed with a shaky hand-held camera, is constantly reminding us of this. So is the fact that the main character, Robert, is playing himself. But in the end this is unimportant. You get the message loud and clear even without the ''based on a true story'' qualities. Britney Baby, One More Time is truly entertaining, but this is one of many media critic movies made over the past few years that nevertheless manages to keep a unique approach, being uninhibited in all its sweetness. It is also a true ''gay film'', but as such it even sticks out in this genre too. You'll find nothing of the traditional focus on AIDS-related issues or the theme of ''finally coming out''. It's about subtle acceptance and understanding, and the straight characters develop, in small ways, into bigger persons, as they come to accept Robert. Britney Baby, One More Time preaches the values of truth, honesty as well as the importance of being yourself. With a humorous twinkle in the eye, the film saves itself becoming a feel good movie.
