This enigmatic short film from Australia builds its narrative around the blue-tongued lizard. Just as the title suggests, colour plays an important part in this film where occasional shades of washed out blues and greens stand out. Among unfinished barns, power lines, and vast fields, a young girl tries to catch a boy’s attention. All while, the boy’s troubled eyes imply that his mind is on something completely else. The blue tongue of a lizard offers him a moment of comfort in an existence apparently alien to him.JONATHAN ROZENKRANTZ
