Michael is a sucessful marketing analyst, engaged to the perfect blond, climbing the corporate ladder with great promise, who lives in the ultimate Los Angeles high-rise with a view of the Pacific.
Alex is a handsome drifter who plays life by his own rules, has no ties to anyone and no morals. He is charming, sly and unpredictable. He is exactly the kind of guy someone like Michael knows he should stay away from, but finds irresistable.
Alex integratiates himself into Michaels life by exposing him to a social scene in Los Angeles that uptight, play-by-the-rules Michael would not even have fantasized about. But when the ride spins out of control, Michael isn't in Disneyland, he's in the middle of a nightmare.
Comment:
In David Koepp's script of Bad Influence there was a basic situation that I found very intriguing - namely, a story in which one character, Michael, gets involved in a situation where he discovers a whole new side of himself that he never knew existed. And hat, is both liberating and threatening. It's a theme that I find very appealing and potentially a very entertaining movie.
