A seemingly average working-class teenage girl in northern Britain dreams of pop-stardom, richness and success to the tunes of Britney Spears. poverty and chain-smoking mothers are only temporary obstacles on the road to fame. The setting has a realistic, almost documentary style, which may come as a surprise knowing of director Brian Percival's background as a commercial director for TV and of music videos. Julie Rutterford's well written script and Percival's pictures together create the remarkable foundations of this astonishing short film, which contains an unexpected and shocking turning point, leaving the audience in a state of self-examination.
