Beware of grapefruits. If not, you may end up in a coffi n and
your old roommate with a Ninja. Sounds strange? Yes. Funny?
Defi nitely.
Written and directed by former surfer and Art Director, now
current commercial director Steven K. Tsuchida, A Ninja Pays
Half My Rent tells the slightly bizarre story about Barry (Timm
Sharp) who shares an apartment with a friend. One day while
having breakfast, Barry’s roommate accidentally gets grapefruit
juice in the eye and dies by the injury it causes him. And suddenly
a real-life ninja turns up, expecting to become Barry’s new
roommate. A story about those small compromises you have to
deal with when sharing a home, this is a small, delightful lesson
in how to get along with someone not so similar to yourself.
