Vynn, Shaun and Melvin are three 15-year-old Singalese boys. They spend most of their time dreaming about making it big in the music business, while picking fights with different street gangs and getting themselves into a considerable amount of trouble. This super-stylish film contains no professional actors; Vynn, Shaun and Melvin all play themselves. Director Royston Tan uses different cinematic elements when dealing with complex subjects such as friendship, sexual insecurity and suicide. 15 is both amusing and disturbing. In fact, it was disturbing enough to get supressed and ignored by the local media for a while because of its vulgarities - growing up in Singapore just ain't that easy. PER NYSTRÖM
