What makes a film festival so special and what is the work behind the scenes actually like? In an attempt to answer these questions, Lasse Hallström followed a selection of workers at last year's Stockholm International Film Festival. This was the year a heated discussion regarding pornography began in the middle of the festival. Roman Polanski was the guest of honour and the festival celebrated its tenth anniversary. Told in a fast and loose tempo you get to experience the stress and the parties, see well-respected directors and also follow the enthusiasts without whom a festival cannot survive. 11 days of film is shown together with Entombed's music video for Seeing Red (directed by Lloyd Kaufman during the 1999 Stockholm International Film Festival) along with Gösta and Lennart, a short film made by Babak Najafi, last years winner of the 1 km of film scholarship.
