Summer Cinema

Every year in August The Stockholm International Film Festival arranges free outdoor screenings for all film lovers. This year the silver screen will be right on the grass in Rålambshovsparken, with four modern classics about power and politics as well as a world premiere of the Swedish film Simple Simon. Be there between 18-22 August!

Four modern classics about politics and one world premiere!

Summer Cinema 2010 takes place in Rålambshovsparken between 18-22 August. The films start 8 pm but around 6 pm the park starts to fill with film lovers and picnic baskets.

Director Gus Van Sant will receive the Stockholm Visionary Award this year and we start to celebrate him early by screening his award winning Milk during Summer Cinema. Almost as current today as when it takes place in 1978 it shows the charismatic politician Harvey Milks struggle for equality, when he becomes the first homosexual man elected into public office in California. A struggle that in the end took his life.
