Submissions for Best International Feature Film

News /

This year Stockholm International Film Festival has the privilege to present four films that have become their countries submission for the 93d Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. It’s a great honor to be chosen as each county is only allowed one submission. This year the four Academy Awards submissions are from Greece, Iran, Palestine and Switzerland. Stockholm International Film Festival would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Guatemala’s submission La Llorna, that was a part of last year’s festival, and Peru’s submission Song Without A Name that won Best Film at last year’s festival.

Greece gives us Christos Nikou’s twisted pandemic drama Apples where amnesia is spread across the globe. From Iran we find Sun Children where Oscar nominee Majid Majidi tess a story about child labour and human rights. Palestine contributes with the absurd romantic comedy Gaza Mon Amour created by identical Twins Arab and Tarzan Nasser. Switzerland gives us the family drama My Little Sister where the german legend Nina Hoss does a performance of a lifetime.
