During the Stockholm Film Festival award ceremony Saturday evening, Gustav Lindh received this year's Stockholm Rising Star Award. The prize is awarded to a young actor or actress that has done outstanding performances on film and who is believed to have a bright future in the film industry. The prize was handed over by last year's Rising Star winner Filip Berg.

Head of the jury was Anna Carlson, head of The Swedish Union for Performing Arts and Film. The other members were Jan Göransson, head of press for The Swedish Film lnstitute, Lisa Rosengren, project manager at Swedish Film & TV Producers, actor Magnus Krepper and Pia Johansson, actress.

The nominees were:

Julius Fleischanderl

Made his debut in the TV show Om du var jag and had a small role in Unga Sophie Bell. Last year he got his breakthrough with the role of Niklas in Sameblod.

Evin Ahmad

Hailed for her contribution in the lead role as Mirja in Dröm vidare. About a young woman trying to find her place in the world after being released from prison.

Can Demirtas

Got his breakthrough from the hit movie Måste gitt earlier this year, where he both played the leading role and wrote the script.

Gizem Erdogan

Played a smaller roll in the drama Svenskjävel from 2014 and came to prominence on the big screen in her role as Sarah in Dröm vidare (2017).

Gustav Lindh

Previously played the role of Elias Malmgren in Cirkeln and, in this fall, the leading star of the drama comedy Vilken jävla cirkus.

Lene Cecilia Sparrok

Sami actress and reindeer herder from Norway, she debuted in 2016 as the leading actor in the critically acclaimed drama Sameblod.
