In the fall of 1989 a little girl, Pearl, gets a dog from her father. The dog is a puppy who her dad has found and rescued under his trip in Berlin, and in a heroic manner decided to bring back with him to his family in Finland. Pearl falls in love with the dog right away. But where does this puppy, who's name is Stormheart, comes from? The only clue they have is the dog's former owner's address, so the girl starts writing them letters in order to find out more about her beloved pets mysterious background.
