The concept of the Young@Heart Chorus is simple: a rowdy bunch of seniors, singing their old rock’n’roll hearts out to ecstatic audiences around the world. The life experience of the choir members, aged between 75 and 93, gives a new poignancy to hits by such diverse artists as Coldplay, Outkast, Jimi Hendrix, The Clash, Radiohead and Gloria Gaynor. This feature-length musical documentary follows the unique singing gang as they prepare for a show in their hometown, Northampton in Massachusetts, USA. Just one week before the gig, they find out that two of their members have passed away. Although grief-stricken, the remaining members decide to go on with the concert and celebrate their beloved, lost friends through music. The show must go on!
With an abundance of presence, emotion and warmth, Young@heart is like a long, loving hug from your grandmother. Aspiring young artists should take note, as the choir members of Young@Heart deliver one touching song after the other.
