7–18 november 2012

Director, producer, scriptwriter, editor, production and costume designer Anna Billeralso stars in her feature debut. VoluptuousBarbi, a California housewife who has hadenough of her boring husband, sets out to trythe swinging 70’s with stripping, casual sex, jewels, furs and drugs.Inspired by Playboy ads from the period, “Viva”is everything you would expect from a happy, campy and colorful low-budget sex romp:intentionally bad acting, nakedness, tons ofmakeup and top notch mise-en-scène. Biller isthe cinematic incarnation of sleazy sexploitationexperts Meyer, Wishman and Metzger, withthe same interest in female needs and sexualissues as seen in her short films. “Viva” makesroom for pondering on winners and losers inthe sexual revolution. This one-woman show has a fetishist feeling for style that can only bederived from true love for the genre it’s mocking.Bow your head, pro-sex feminists; a new culticon is born.
