Shot on low-grade VHS tape and blown-up to 35mm, controversial enfant-terrible director Korine's latest film sports one of the most literal titles in recent memory as it pays tribute to the outcasts of society and explores white-trash supremacy. A huge departure from his last feature, the sweet and dreamy, "Mr. Lonely", in "Trash Humpers" Korine returns to a familiar world of low-grade torture, urination, and senseless vandalism. The non-narrative film follows a group of nightmarish rubber-masked figures as they sow destruction, chant nonsense phrases, sing folk ditties out of tune, and get it on with what one refers to as "that sweet trash pussy."
Filled with poetry, dance and song, Korine makes use of in-camera lighting distortions to bring a cinema-vérité authenticity to the films unique and baroque universe in which his characters appear like modern day Brother Grimm villains.
