The Hot Spot

The Hot Spot

by Dennis Hopper

A STORY ABOUT DESIRE, JEALOUSY and sudden death among a group of people in a small off-the-road town in Texas. An unscrupulous tramp arrives to the small town, gets a job as a car-dealer and finds himself pulled into a serious game with two beautiful women, where he has to stake his life.
Comment:
THE HOT SPOT IS THE LATEST FILM that I directed starring Don Johnson, Virginia Madsen, Jennifer Connelly, It's a hot steamy film noir set in Texas. I believe that in a lot of ways it is my most mature work. It has a hip, cool, down and dirty soundtrack by Miles Davis, John Lee Hooker, and Taj Mahal, with Jack Nitzsche arrangements. A talented young Swiss cinematographer by the name of Uli Stiger does a bang-up job in this slick, well defined film. I think of it as film noir with a happy ending.
