Tim Burton meets Alice in Wonderland inthis modern fairy tale about a bitter girl whobecomes the sweetest. The ten-year-oldprotagonist in Paul McDermott’s second shortfilm suffers from depression. Creatively, shedreams about and sketches out various waysto end her life and eventually decides that if sheswallows enough bees, surely they will stingher to death.But things don’t go according to plan in thisanimated short, narrated by Hugo Weaving(Agent Smith in “The Matrix”). Mixing clipart,real acting and a wild combination of animationtechniques, McDermott tells a beautifullybizarre story about depression, loneliness andregaining a lust for life.
