7–18 november 2012

Following his 2004 documentary, Peace One Day, director Jeremy Gilley continues his fight for a worldwide day of ceasefire. With the help of big-name movie stars like Angelina Jolie, Gilley manages to get September 21 recognized by the United Nations as a date of peace. Unfortunately, the day of the big announcement is set to a highly unfortunate date, September 11, 2001, and the Peace Day sinks into oblivion. But Gilley, being an idealist to an almost naive extent, refuses to give up.
Slowly, he implements his ideals throughout the world, registering his every step on camera. He vainly tries to persuade the leaders of 22 Arab nations to join him; he travels to Afghanistan with Jude Law to spread the peace message, and is always armed with a tireless desire to change the world and prove the pessimists wrong.
With its low-budget feel, The Day After Peace is more a documentation of Gilley’s journey, and his immovable conviction, than a grandiose plead to the viewer.
