A diaper-changing drama reminding of the Dardenne brothers – how often is that sentence used to describe a film? A Frenchman living in New Orleans, realizes that his howling baby son is in need for a change, whereas he sets forth on a journey to honor his fatherly duties. One finds great beauty in how Stephen Ringer’s soft and light-sensitive images capture Clara Aranovich’s strong-headed direction. This is the triviality of parenthood caught on film; something most people can relate to, but few storytellers know how to depict. Aranovich does.
