Big city life makes us all anonymous. Thisurban fairytale of longing tells one of a millionstories of isolation and attempts at breakingthrough – and reaching out for someone. Whendeath is good riddance, life is not that great. The hero and heroine meet accidentally on atelephone helpline. They try hard to bridge theemptiness around them, but the emptinessinside laughs and wins. The audience is leftas alone as the voices on the chatline with adramatic secret. Slow-paced drama, “TheAnonymous Man” marks yet another exampleof the current flow of quality films coming outof South Korea.
