Going from the rain-dashed streets of a filmnoir via a room full of silent men in penguincostumes, and further on to the cartoonaesthetics of old-school Batman, “SpandexMan” uses every influence available to tell itsabsurd story. Ben works as a paperboy anddecorates his home with news articles aboutviolence he has witnessed. One day, preparingfor a costume party, he finds his old pastel longjohns and dresses up as a superhero. In thiscostume, he finally summons the courage tostop being a bystander and start interveningwhen a crime is committed.
