Starting with a scene fit for any car commercial, a man and a woman drive a SUV up the sunlit serpentine roads of the Bulgarian mountains, accompanied by a smooth soul jazz soundtrack. A shattering, brutal scene waits around the next bend. And then? Rabbits. Placed in the back, but nevertheless in the driver’s seat, they glare behind empty eyes, with the fixed smiles of fluffy toys. “Rabbit Troubles” skips between parallel worlds and ties together events with the mere presence of the rabbits, making them the eerie rulers of it all.
