In his previous documentary, "This Film is Not Yet Rated," Academy award-nominated director Kirby Dick investigated the hypocrisy of the Motion Picture of America Association's (MPAA) film rating system. With his new film "Outrage" Dick continues his fight against the two-faced moral guardians of the USA, as he sets out to settle the score with the hypocrisy of American politicians, whose anti-gay policies place them at the frontline of a struggle to deny the rights of a community they are themselves secretly a part of.
"Outrage" goes to great lengths exposing the true lifestyles of several heavyweight US policymakers as it examines both the damaging consequences of these politicians hypocritical campaigning for the millions of Americans in the LGBT-community; as well as the knotty ties between the media and these men of power. Based on analyses from prominent members of the US gay community, the film attempts to shed light on the social mechanisms of the political closet as well as the ethics of outing.
