Orz Boyz tells the dramatic story of two young schoolboys, both coming from severely broken homes. Disrespectful behaviour in class earns our main characters the less than flattering nicknames Liar No. 1 and Liar No 2. As punishment for their pranks, they are sentenced to spend their afternoons repairing books at the school library.
Instead of working, No. 1 reads stories to his one-boy audience. Together they find a fantasy world, much more alluring than their own reality of deceitful adults and absent parents. But merely imagining this fairytale world isn’t enough. Soon they find out about the magic waterslide that will take them to the Kingdom of Orz, a place that can turn them into instant adults. Now, all they have to do is collect enough money for tickets to ride.
First time director Ya-Che Yang dedicates his film to adults who wish they were kids again, and to children who want to grow up fast.
