Megaheavy

by Fenar Ahmad

Set in the ’ugly decade’ of the early 80's, Megaheavy marks the Danish filmmaker Fenar Ahmad's departure from the overtly political, while he remains firmly entrenched in the camp of the outsider. Jolly, the quintessential bespectacled 14-year-old nerd, is firm on two points: her love for classmate Kenneth, and her equally strong passion for heavy metal music. But when the neighbor’s son enters her life, certainties quickly begin to crumble.
Deceptively simple, Megaheavy is a finely textured characterization of the messiness of teenage turmoil and a loving tribute to an equally messy decade.

This is a short film screened before Nothin's All Bad and in Short Film Screening 3.
