Luna’s documentaryis the classic rags-to-riches story about thepoor boy who becomes the best boxer in theworld, but also a tale of Mexico during the 80’s, 90’s and into the new millennium. Chávez’scareer is not free from controversy and was,as president Salinas used his popularity togain power, entwined in national politics. Anarrangement that had negative consequencesfor Chávez when the presidency changed andthe new man in office targeted him with the fullpower of his administration.
