Four More Years

by Tova Magnusson

David Holst had it all; he was the handsome, funny and popular leader of the Liberal People's Party and should-have-been Prime Minister of Sweden. Two years and one lost election later, he is struggling with a declining support from voters and a messy private life. The only thing that keeps him from resigning is fear of not knowing what to do with his life.

By chance he meets Martin in an elevator and falls helplessly in love, initiating a complex and forbidden love affair. David's unexpected gay debut complicates his marriage to Fia, who is also his closest co-worker. An even more precarious twist to the situation is the inconvenient fact that Martin is party secretary of the Social Democrats – David's biggest political opponent.

Four More Years is a smart, daring romcom that breaks taboos on many levels – a never before seen humoristic portrayal of Swedish politicians.
