Most people don’t think about where their water comes from, they just turn on the tap and expect it to be there. Water is an absolute necessity for life on earth, and with shocking honesty Flow: For Love of Water confronts the disturbing reality that this crucial resource is running out. Who owns our water? Who gets to make the decisions about it? Is it becoming the new oil? Are supplies being depleted by common greed? Is the threat of a health disaster of epidemic proportions a result of the ruthless acts of a global water cartel?
This documentary takes a deep and dirty dive into the world of public tap-water and the virtually unregulated industry of its bottled cousin. In what has been described as the scariest film of the year, and not exactly a feel-good movie, director Irena Salina tells the urgent and, occasionally, very ugly story about the alarming state of the world’s water supplies and the billion-dollar industry it has become.
