Seamlessly making the transition from live action to animation Wes Anderson skillfully creates a meticulously self-contained world every bit as offbeat and quirky as those depicted in "The Royal Tenenbaums and "The Life Aquatic".
"The Fantastic Mr. Fox", an adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved novel, chronicles the efforts of the sly but charming Mr. Fox to feed his family while evading the increasingly desperate plans of mean farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean to kill him. When the trio of farmers lay siege to his home, Mr. Fox enlists the help of the other hillside animals and makes plans to raid the farmers' stores from right under their noses. Lending their voices to the characters are some of Hollywood's most distinguished actors; George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Jason Schwartzman to name just a few.
During the writing process, to immerse himself completely into Dahl's world, Anderson went to England to stay at Gipsy House, the home of the late author. Inspired by the house, its surroundings and Dahl himself, Anderson decided to model the set after the famous house.
