Because the Night

Last year’s winner of the Stockholm InternationalFilm Festival’s 1 km film scholarship, AlexandraDahlström, takes us on a journey throughStockholm’s nightlife. Her gallery of charactersinclude a young girl in a relationship with anolder man, the guy who recently moved to thecapital and doesn’t know anyone, the father tobe who desperately wants to escape domesticity,and finally the girl who’s evening ends with herbalancing on the rail of a bridge. Letting thesefour people’s lives intersect briefly Dahlströmcaptures all the euphoria and sadness of theStockholm club scene.
