Departures

Academy Award Winner Departures has been hailed rightly as a Japanese Six Feet Under. The failing cellist Daigo moves from Tokyo back home to the village he left after his fathers death. Unexpectedly he finds a new calling as he starts to work as a mortician. Director Yôjirô Takita gives us a fascinating look into the Japanese culture.
