Ricky Gervais’ and Stephen Merchant’s much-anticipated collaboration on a feature film is a warm coming-of-age drama comedy about three young boys who spend their nights drinking, flirting and getting into all sorts of trouble.
The handsome Freddie wants to make something of his life and despite being mocked by his parents for his ambition; he stars selling life insurances for the cynical Mr Kendrick. His friend Bruce just can't stay out of a good brawl, and the goofy Snork got his nickname "because he's got a nose for muff". When Freddie falls in love with Mr Kendrick's daughter, life as a salesman no longer seems so attractive.
Gervais’ and Merchant’s witty humor is constantly present in this smart, feelgood depiction of three young boys in a typical 70’s British suburb. An impressive cast, with Gervais himself playing Freddie's father, starring Ralph Fiennes and Emily Watson as Mr and Mrs Kendrick, vows for great acting performances.
