»X500« is tale of three countries and three young people lost in unfamiliar cities. After the death of her mother, Maria moves from the Philippines to Montreal to live with her grandmother. When his father dies, David leaves his Mexican village and moves to Mexico City. Alex returns to Colombia after losing his brother and being deported from the USA. All three become lost in their new environs and must quickly learn how to differentiate the good from the bad.

A portrait of our time, »X500«, is a fervently current film that tackles one of the most important issues of our age: migration and its impact on the individual. Presenting the three stories with consistently breath-taking cinematography and with the use of inexperienced, but perfectly cast actors, the film grips its viewer with every frame. Anyone who has ever found themselves a stranger somewhere can identify with a sense of not belonging and director Arango captures this feeling perfectly.
