The man who tickles the giant in director Sara Taksler's new feature length documentary is the Egyptian cardiologist Bassem Youssef. During the Arab Spring in 2011 Youssef transformed himself into a massively popular satirists by taking a serious issue and finding a way to process it through humor. From his laundry room he produces a YouTube channel that soon enthralls an audience of 5 million.

»Tickling Giants« depicts a time and place where people literally die fighting to express themselves. It is a story about a man who is both charged and threatened by the controversial political content that he transmits to millions, while refusing to accept the extreme political climate and corrupt media. After the instant success of his YouTube channel, Youssef gets his own TV show moving into an even larger studio with an audience that soars to 30-40 million per week. But what happens when you tickle the giant? Will it laugh or will it stomp on you?
