Can you put a price on life? The chilling documentary »Tales from the Organ Trade« guides the viewer through the raw reality of organ trafficking, a steadily growing multi-million dollar black market business in places as distinctly different as Colorado, Kosovo, Toronto and Tel Aviv. We meet a man on his deathbed, desperately in need of a donor; a Moldovian woman who’s willing to sell her kidney; and a Turkish doctor, known as “Dr. Frankenstein” who is involved with the trade of illegal transplants. »Tales from the Organ Trade« is an equally political, personal and uncomfortable case study without any simplification, forcing the audience to face their beliefs about justice.

director Ric Esther Bienstock uses her investigative eye to constantly shift perspectives in order to leave the audience feeling the echoing dilemma of the subject. Narrated by director and body-horror fanatic David Cronenberg, »Tales from the Organ Trade« explores the grey areas of this morally complex business and will undoubtedly impact its audience.
