»La Maison de la radio« refers to the building which houses Radio France, a recognizable white circular structure a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. In this film renowned documentary filmmaker Nicolas Philibert places the audience within its walls and corridors. Each room in the legendary radio house has its own atmosphere and usage, where we get to follow its reporters, producers, technical crew and guests. It also goes on the road with the reporters as they work on radio stories, following both the Tour de France and a looming thunderstorm.

Eschewing common documentary techniques, such as voice-overs, talking-heads or informative credits, Philibert simply observes and allows the audience to do the same. In the age of the Internet, when radio seems about as archaic as the locomotive, »La maison de la radio« is more than just a pleasant and comfortable ride from a true innovator and storyteller, but also a quietly significant film.
