Ignasi Millet is a world-renowned museum expert from Spain who lives a colorful life. He has pursued a career in art and started a successful company with eternal optimism, and despite his homosexuality he married a woman and fathered two sons with her. With an unimposing camera, the film picks up as Millet’s company is facing bankruptcy and his over-mortgaged house is about to be repossessed by the bank.

Through a series of interviews with the important people in Millet’s life, such as his now openly lesbian ex-wife, his sons (one of which is a devout Christian) and his closest friends, »Ignasi M.« explores the complexities of the vibrant main character. With quick wit, Millet candidly discusses the more difficult aspects of his life, such as coming out of the closet as both homosexual and HIV-positive to his sons. He also muses over his more mundane concerns, such as the lesser-known side effects of Viagra and his daily antiviral pills, proving that humor is perhaps the best strategy to live life to the fullest. »Ignasi M.« is veteran director Ventura Pons’ return to documentary filmmaking, giving the audience an insight into a remarkable life, as well as modern Spain’s current through a social and economic crisis.
