»Get The Picture« follows veteran war photographer John G. Morris, a witty and optimistic raconteur, who at 96 is perhaps the only living war photographer of the D-Day landing. He invited director Cathy Pearson to examine his photo archive after a chance meeting in Paris. The profound effect Morris’ work and experiences had on Pearson was the impetus for this documentary, which follows Morris’ phenomenal 70-year career working as the picture editor for Life Magazine, the New York Times and Magnum Photos. »Get the Picture« is both a celebration and a reminder of the power and influence of “the image”.

With interviews featuring celebrated war photographers and journalists such as Don McCullin and Christiane Amanpour, interspersed with work from Morris’ archives, »Get the Picture« is a thoughtful documentary, sensitively and poignantly shot, about John G. Morris’ work in photography and his tireless quest for world peace.
