Before becoming the CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs participated in Robert X. Cringley’s TV-show »Triumph of the Nerds« in 1995. Only a part of the interview was used for the series and the rest was thought to be lost, until recently when the director of the show found a VHS-copy in his garage.

Ten years before the interview, Steve Jobs had left Apple due to a power struggle with the board of directors and was at the time working on his own project, NeXT. The year after, he returned to Apple, turning the company profitable from having been close to bankruptcy. This independent position makes this hour-long interview rather unique.

At his charismatic best, Steve Jobs speaks freely about career battles, visions on the personal computer and the potentials of the Internet. The interview reveals the history of Apple together with Steve Wozniak, the passion of Steve Jobs and his visions of the digital future, which many would say is the very idea of Apple.
