Filmed from above and deep within the big blue sea, »Planet Ocean« is a documentary about the role of oceans in our ecosystem. With extraordinary aerial photography by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and award winning underwater cameramen, the film dives into the depths of the least known and most vulnerable realms of the earth for a magnificent journey.

Written by MichaëL Pitiot, a well known French travel writer, in collaboration with a group of top researchers, oceanographers and biologists from several countries, »Planet Ocean« investigates the links between humankind and the ocean, the future of the planet, the governance issue of the high seas and challenges which are not to be ignored.

The Documentary's premiere was held at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012. »Planet Ocean« emphasizes the importance of oceans while displaying their beauty and highlighting the urgency of taking action.
