IT IS 1945 in Germany and everything 15-year-old Lore knows is coming to an end. As the Third Reich collapses, Lore, who was raised by a father working as an SS Officer, is forced to lead her younger siblings across the war-torn country, after her parents are imprisoned. Amidst the chaos, she encounters mysterious refugee Thomas who shatters her fragile reality with hatred and desire. In order to survive in this new world, she must trust someone she was taught to hate and face the darkness within herself.
WITH INTELLIGENCE AND subtlety, the aftermaths and traumas of post-Nazi Germany are pictured in a new perspective, through the eyes of a Nazi-indoctrinated girl. Based on Rachel Seiffert’s novel »The Dark Room«, »Lore« is a unique coming-of-age tale, set against the backdrop of a world falling apart and new life emerging out of darkness.
