»Certain People« is a depiction of personal crisis and age paranoia, during a long country-style cocktail party. Katinka arranges a birthday party at her idyllic country house for her closest friends – all of them part of close-knit cultural hipster crowd. Midway through dinner, Katinka’s twin brother Joel shows up with his newly found acquaintance Linda.
Linda interrupts the calm and sophisticated party with her giggly, trashy style and Katinka’s highbrow artistic friends are increasingly annoyed. Linda’s presence is like a wake-up call and she stirs things up. Slowly, tension is built up between Linda and Katinka’s friends. Katinka’s cultural, bohemian friends begin to question their life choices and relationships.
