A team of American scientists is drilling in the northern Finnish mountains, at the exact location where the real live Santa Claus happens to be frozen in deep slumber. A lonely child remembers the old myths of Santa, who used to torment the local children many years ago, and is determined to do everything in his powers to stop the horrors from being unleashed.First time director Helander expands upon his concept from his popular shorts Rare Exports inc. and The Official Rare Exports Inc. Safety Instructions, and does so without making the mistake of repeating himself. With one foot sturdily placed in the 80’s tradition of child-oriented family horror fun, in the vein of Gremlings or Goonies, Helander serves an absurd twist to our most beloved children's myths and brings a demonic Santa into our universe. Amazingly shot with the framing of a bleak and cold northern landscape, this tongue-in-cheek monster movie presents a seriously twisted Christmas adventure, full of giggles and genuine scares.
